CLEP

EARN 3 CREDITS FOR COLLEGE ALGEBRA BY PASSING A SINGLE RELATIVELY EASY TEST!
 CLEP (College Level Examination Program)

Many students are not aware of this incredible option. You may know why!

This seems to be the best kept secret to earning college credits without necessarily "stepping" into the classroom. If you  have the basic fundamental algebra skills ( at least from high school or even if  you were self taught) then you can build upon it and cover all the required topics  from the CLEP syllabus to pass this test easily. You will find the outline of the topics covered  and the percentage break down below.

I learned about the CLEP  when I almost completed my first degree, but was able to test out of Math for Liberal Arts ( called College Math  by CLEP) and Pre-calculus with Trigonometry ( This is a  combined course, which is now offered by most community colleges and universities so you do not have take these courses separate)...

In fact there are many other courses that you can earn college credits for by CLEPing to shorten the path to your degree. But this site is dedicated exclusively to the math related sections of the CLEP exams and so if you are interested in passing any or all of these math tests in a short time and need information on how to succeed then you need to look no further. You will find all the the tools and resources here to pass the CLEP like many other students who have been successful already.

BRIEF GENERAL INFORMATION ON THE CLEP
CLEPing DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR GPA

CLEP provides a great opportunity for you to earn 3 credits for College Algebra and other college level courses by just simply passing  each test. You might not believe the passing score starting range! You need at least 50 points to pass. Usually they want you to check with the college/university to which you desire to transfer the credits to see what pass mark is accepted. But the standard CLEP-recommended minimum scaled score is a 50. You do not need to be concerned about your GPA if you were to  score the max or  minimum points on the passing scale because it is a pass / fail test so no letter grade will be assigned to your transcript. These credits are accepted at nearly all the public and private colleges and universities nationwide. You can take the test at any testing center, at any day of the week, that it is administered. But make sure you get some basic preparation before you do. I have a lot of great resources I am going to share to guide you to success. But in the event you need a tried and proven tutor, that makes students happy with their results every semester, to refresh and guide you through some of the more challenging topics related to piece-wise and logarithmic functions just contact this number: 954-780-6284

AN EXPERIENCED TUTOR TO GUIDE YOU TO SUCCESS

I am very familiar with the test after tested out  of a few of  the CLEP math courses. In addition, I have tutored a large number of students over the years to successfully test out of math by CLEPing it.

DESCRIPTION OF THE CLEP COLLEGE ALGEBRA EXAMINATION

The exam covers material that is essentially  taught in a one-semester college algebra course. Many of questions require just basic algebraic skills. The test includes questions on basic algebraic operations; linear and quadratic equations, inequalities, and graphs; algebraic, exponential, and logarithmic functions; and miscellaneous other topics.

Most of these topics are covered in Intermediate Algebra coursework ( It  may be  called by a different name by some institutions. This is the course  taken  prior to College Algebra---a prerequisite to it. ) except for exponential, and logarithmic functions  which are not mainly covered. I have a very simply and straightforward way to break this topic down in just a  few virtual tutoring sessions with you. I will also post  some resources pertinent to this topic here.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Questions on the College Algebra examination require candidates to demonstrate the following abilities in the approximate proportions indicated.
  • Solving routine, straightforward problems (about 50 percent of the examination)
  • Solving nonroutine problems requiring an understanding of concepts and the application of skills and concepts (about 50 percent of the examination)
The subject matter of the College Algebra examination is drawn from the following topics. The percentages next to the main topics indicate the approximate percentage of exam questions on that topic

Click on each link below --------Basic Introductory Lessons--------to learn and/ or refresh the basic concepts of the lessons that would be covered by the CLEP exam. This is  step- by -step  and easy to follow  overview. Go through each lesson as numbered with the link. You should do all the practice questions until you are comfortable with the lessons. These questions are found immediately after the the last lesson in each section. It is very imperative that you practice these questions because this is the only way you'll know whether or not you are understanding the lessons.  These shall familiarize you with the  type and nature of the questions you may encounter on the test at the foundational level.
